When you're choosing a cremation urn, time is often part of the equation. There may be a memorial service coming up, family arriving, or simply the need to bring your loved one home properly. Knowing when your urn will arrive isn't a minor detail — for many families it's one of the first practical questions after placing an order.

Our Delivery Timeframes

We're based in Auckland and dispatch orders Monday to Friday. Orders placed before 1pm on a business day are sent the same day. Orders placed after 1pm, or over the weekend, go out the next business day.

Once dispatched, delivery typically takes 1 to 3 business days within New Zealand. Because we're in Auckland, North Island deliveries are generally faster — most North Island addresses receive their order within 1 to 2 business days of dispatch. South Island addresses typically take 2 to 3 business days.

It's worth knowing that many cremation urn retailers in NZ don't hold stock locally — they ship from Australia or overseas, with lead times of 5 to 14 days. We stock everything ourselves, which means same-day dispatch is genuinely possible and the timeframes below are real.

That means for most North Island addresses, if you order on a weekday before 1pm you can expect your urn to arrive the following day or the day after. South Island buyers should allow 2 to 3 business days. Rural addresses in either island may sit toward the longer end of that range.

What Affects Delivery Time

A few things can influence how quickly your order arrives. These apply regardless of which urn you choose — whether you're looking at a brass or aluminium urn or a keepsake — because all orders ship from the same Auckland location.

Your location within NZ. Being based in Auckland means North Island deliveries have a head start. Most North Island main centres — Wellington, Hamilton, Tauranga, Napier, Palmerston North — receive orders within 1 to 2 business days of dispatch. South Island addresses, including Christchurch, Dunedin and Nelson, typically take 2 to 3 business days. Rural delivery addresses in either island may add a further day.

When you place your order. Our 1pm cut-off is the dividing line between same-day dispatch and next-business-day dispatch. An order placed at 12:55pm on a Tuesday goes out that afternoon. An order placed at 1:05pm goes out Wednesday morning.

Public holidays. Public holidays are not business days. If your order falls around Waitangi Day, Easter, ANZAC Day, or any regional holiday, add one business day for each holiday between your order date and expected delivery.

Courier network volume. During busy periods, particularly in November and December, courier networks across NZ can slow slightly. We dispatch on time from our end — but transit time can occasionally stretch by a day during these periods.

If You Need an Urn Urgently

We understand that sometimes there is very little time. If you have a memorial service or family gathering in the next few days, here's what we'd suggest.

Order before 1pm on a business day. This gives you the best chance of same-day dispatch and the fastest possible transit time.

Check the delivery estimate at checkout. Our checkout shows an estimated delivery date based on your address and the time of your order. Use this as your guide.

If you're based in Auckland, you can collect in person. This is the fastest option when time is genuinely short. Give us a call and we'll arrange a time that works. Collection means you can have your urn the same day without waiting on courier transit at all.

Call us before you order if timing is critical. If you have a specific date you need the urn by, call us first. We can confirm whether your timeframe is achievable, arrange collection if you're in Auckland, or flag any potential delays before you commit. We would rather have an honest conversation upfront than have you find out at the wrong moment that timing is tight. Tracking Your Order

All orders are sent with tracking. Once your order is dispatched you'll receive a confirmation email with a tracking link. If you haven't received a tracking email within one business day of placing your order, check your spam folder first — then get in touch and we'll look into it.

Do you offer express or overnight shipping? We don't currently offer a separate express option at checkout — but same-day dispatch before 1pm on a business day already puts your order into the courier network the day you order it, which is the fastest realistic path to delivery. If you have an urgent need, message us directly and we'll do our best to help.

Do you ship to rural addresses? Yes, we ship anywhere in New Zealand. Rural delivery addresses typically add one extra day to transit time compared to urban addresses.

What happens if my order doesn't arrive in time? Contact us as soon as you're concerned. We'll check the tracking, liaise with the courier if needed, and work out the best path forward with you. In genuine cases where a delay has caused a real problem, we'll do what we can to make it right.

Do you ship outside New Zealand? Our standard shipping is for New Zealand addresses. If you're based in Australia or elsewhere and need to enquire about international shipping, contact us directly and we'll let you know what's possible.

What courier do you use? We use New Zealand courier services for all domestic orders. The specific carrier may vary depending on your location and the size of your order, but all deliveries include tracking.

We know that choosing a cremation urn while managing everything else that comes with a loss is not easy. The last thing you need is uncertainty about when something will arrive.
