Cloisonné is one of the oldest decorative arts in the world. Each colour is applied by hand within fine outlines, built up in layers, then finished with enamel that holds the detail for years. It is slow, skilled work. You can see it in the result.
Soft white base. Vibrant pink blooms. Fine gold outlines that catch the light. This urn looks different in the morning than it does in the evening, and different again when someone picks it up and holds it close.
